6th August 2011 - Cambridge Rock Festival
The weekend of 6th August dawned with the band making their way up the M11 to Cambridge to play the Cambridge Rock Festival 2011. Rehearsals completed and advance plans made for transporting drums, guitars, amps and people, the band (and their equipment) arrived with time to spare backstage, ready for their Saturday afternoon slot on the main stage.
The Steve Boyce BandThe 55-minute set was tight and well received by the crowd, who showed their appreciation enthusiastically. A couple of new numbers were aired and new singer Vicky got her first taste of a festival. Considering the competition at this gig, the band acquitted themselves admirably.
Time to relax after the gig, and the band had almost a small town of tents pitched backstage surrounding a central gazebo, all of which were provided and previously assembled by the most excellent crew man Jan May. It has to be said that Jan thought of everything, producing from the depths of the store tent a range of provisions only rivalled by a well-stocked supermarket.
The remainder of the day was spent mostly with a beer in hand, provided by the extensive range of real ales from the Festival bar, and wandering between the stages to check out the live music.
Altogether an excellent festival, a great gig and a well-spent weekend. Have a look HERE.

Paul Hollands will be joining the Steve Boyce Band as our new drummer with immediate effect. Paul played wth Steve in the Absolute Radio house band on the Abbey Road sessions in October 2008. He brings to the band a wealth of experience and we look forward to a long and successful future with him. We wish Gary Hunsley all the best for the future and thank him for his amazing contribution to the band over the last four years.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! We have been busy over the last couple of months writing new material for a new album which we will showcase in our forthcoming gigs. The boys and girls will be going into the studios shortly to start rehearsing and we can't wait to get back out on stage and have a bit of a party. We will be going out with some old friends this year including The Hamsters and Eddie and The Hot Rods. There will be some more surprises too!
